Article marketing: How to Get More of your articles published
|
Article marketing is one of the best ways to generate traffic but it's time consuming and competition is stiff. Fact is, only a small percentage of articles submitted is selected for publication each week. If the the articles you’ve submitted lately haven't been published, there are a number of ways to increase their chances being selected. - Follow submission guidelines.
The standard length for articles is 500 - 750 words. Publishers are busy and don’t edit articles, so double check grammar and spelling. - Submit well written articles.
They need to be good so that other web site owners are keen to use them on their websites. Use short words, short sentences and short paragraphs. They are easier to read and more inviting. They hold out promise of instant gratification. Leave spaces between paragraphs to avoid a cramped look. - Pay special attention to the headline. Work on it until you get a powerful and intriguing headline. If your headline doesn’t grab their attention, your article is dead.
- Make work easy for them. Format articles to 65 characters or less per line . This includes spaces between words. Proper formatting in notepad makes it easy for them to cut and paste.
- Limit bylines to 60 - 80 words. This is the Resource Box where you include info about yourself, your business, your website and link to your site.
Leverage your timeInstead of submitting the same article to a number of sites, write 4 different versions of the article using the same key words, then submit them to e-zines sites.
